One Thing - 1/31/14

We got to see our little guy again today! We are almost 24 weeks. Baby boy seems to be doing great. We got a few 3-D pictures today.

I see these ultrasound pics and the ones we have from 4 weeks ago and think of Baby Jonah. Will #4 look like Jonah?

One Thing - 1/30/14

Lydia's hair is getting long enough that it is now getting in her eyes. So, it's time to start doing something with it! I pulled a bit of it up today. It is just a spike right now, but it sure is cute to see Lydia grow into a little girl! (The only way she will take pictures right now is by sitting in my lap and looking at the iPad...hopefully just a phase.)

One Thing - 1/28/14

Lydia loves seeing herself in the iPad. And, yes, she is wearing a bib...not because she needs to but because she still loves to wear anything she can, including bibs!

One Thing - 1/26/14

My weekend project was our office

Before

Three boxes of garage sale stuff, two bags of garbage, 6 bags of shredded paper recycling and too many hours later...

After

Hopefully never again will the office become what it was. Early pregnancy+Christmas+Open House+New gifts+Mommy working too much+Lots of papers needing homes=One Horribly Big Mess!

One Thing - 1/23/14

Silas was the next to get the stomach bug. It has hit him a bit harder than Mike or Jonah, but he has been feeling hungry and thirsty most of the day. Hopefully he will start keeping it all down soon! This is a new experience for Sy. He has only vomited 2 other times in his 3 1/2 years of life and both times he felt fine right away. Our sweet Gloria has always seemed to know when someone is sick. She usually sticks pretty close to me when I am pregnant. This afternoon, she has snuggled up next to Silas...a very rare occurrence!

One Thing - 1/20/14

I shared supper tonight with just Silas and Lydia. Sadly, Jonah and Daddy came down with a stomach bug this afternoon. Oh how we pray that the rest of us would be spared from it! Both Jonah and Daddy think they are already feeling better....we will see. The positives? After a very busy Sunday, Mike is getting some rest. And, the boys have gotten to watch lots of Duck Tales and Curious George.

One Thing - 1/19/14

Two Silas quotes from the day -

Jonah was playing his guitar and making up songs after lunch today. I didn't hear the first part of this song, but I waked into the living room to hear him sing "Silas, Silas." Silas was playing with Legos nearby. Without a beat, I heard him add to Jonah's song "you're my favorite brother."

We aren't huge sports fans at our house but do enjoy watching some college football/basketball and pro football games on the weekends. Silas is starting to learn some sports terminology. Yesterday, he learned that they don't make touchdowns in basketball. Today, watching football, he saw someone get tackled and said, "he got a touchdown." I told him that he didn't get a touchdown but that he was tackled. Silas said, "well then he got a fall down."

One Thing - 1/17/14

Today was a big day for Jonah. It was his day to be the helper at preschool. So, that meant he also got to bring snacks and something for Show and Tell. It sounds like everyone enjoyed his snowman popcorn & marshmallow cups. And, he liked being able to show everyone his lego police motorcycle.

After lunch, Jonah and I headed out for the afternoon. I needed to go grocery shopping in Omaha. Over the past few weeks, we have been talking with Jonah about what he could buy with the money he has been saving in his piggy bank. He made the decision to purchase more legos. Today was his day to buy them! We first went to the bank to turn all of his coins into bills. Then, he was SO patient as I shopped at Bakers before we went to Target. He made an excellent choice and got the Lego Creator Treehouse. He was thrilled to go through the checkout, count out his money, and use it to pay for his legos!

One Thing - 1/16/14

This picture is blurry and grainy, but I had to share. This evening, I took a few minutes to play piano while Lydia was in her pack and play. Nearly every time I turned around to peek at her she was carrying her purse on one arm and had her dolly under the other arm. She is one sweet girl!

One of my most favorite toddler sights - "reading" books to themselves by the bookshelf

One Thing - 1/13/14

Jonah worked hard on a new puzzle he got for Christmas this afternoon. When Silas got up from his nap, he watched what Jonah was doing and exclaimed "Jonah, you're doing a great job!" Love both our hard-worker and our encourager.

One Thing - 1/11/14

Very slowly, Christmas is being put away. Tonight, Silas and I worked on putting our Willow Tree nativity scene back in its many boxes. Mike asked him if he was being a good helper. He responded, "Yes, Mommy is good at helping me!" Then, as we were just about finished with the task, Silas picked up two of the angels and nearly dropped one of them. I told him to be careful with them because they could break. He said, "But, Mommy, they have wings so they will be ok if they fall." I just love this little guy's mind!

You never know what you're going to find when there is a 16-month old toddling around the house.(This is a mug on my nightstand that holds random little things...and a little person tonight!)

To make up for one of the many recent missing days

Me: "Jonah, why does your Lego guy have 3 heads?"
Jonah: "Because he is a totem pole."

One Thing - 1/9/14

Lydia loves to sit at the little table in our play room. Today, she took a cup, sat down, and prayed!

One Thing - 1/8/14

Silas enjoyed some time with Daddy while Jonah was at awana tonight. As you can see, all of our Christmas decorations are still up. With everything taking extra time and effort these days, I just haven't gotten things taken down and put away yet. Soon...hopefully!

One Thing - 1/5/14

Story time with Daddy tonight. After Mommy read the same book to Lydia at least 5 times today, it was time for someone else to take over!
